本日予定しております国宝臼杵石仏火まつりは予定通り開催いたします。
雨の影響で滑りやすい場所もありますので歩きやすく履きなれた靴でお越しください。
Today,we’ll hold Usuki Stone Buddhas Fire Festival as scheduled.

下記日程にて国宝臼杵石仏火まつりを開催いたします。
日時：令和元年８月３１日（土）１７：００〜
＊雨天順延 ９月１日（日）
8/31(土)が雨天の場合、開催可否の判断を当日(8/31)昼頃に決定いたします。
決まり次第、当HP・フェイスブック・臼杵市観光情報協会HP･フェイスブック、等でご案内いたします。

当日は18時～22時の間、臼杵石仏への一般車の乗入れはできなくなります。

【国宝臼杵石仏火まつりとは】
火まつりは、地元に伝わる「虫送り」・「豊作祈願」・「地蔵祭り」を発展させたものです。
千本の松明で深田の里を彩り、石仏群の前に篝火を灯し、「火に映える石仏」・「石仏の里の神秘さ」を創出します。
現在では、臼杵の夏の終わりを飾る行事として、広く親しまれています。
みなさま、夏の終わりの思い出に、ご家族・ご友人をお誘いあわせの上、

「National Treasure Usuki Stone Buddhas Fire Festival」
Date: Saturday, August 31, 2019 (to be postponed to the next day in case of rain) 17:00〜
Place: Usuki Stone Buddha (804-1 Fukata, Usuki-shi, Oita)
Access:
– by express train on JR Nippo Line from Oita to Usuki and then by shuttle bus service (200 yen for adult and 100 yen for children) from Usuki station to Usuki Stone Buddha
– by park and ride, come and park at Usuki Minami Junior High School or Usuki City Hall. Free shuttle bus service from Usuki Minami Junior High School to Usuki Stone Buddha. Shuttle bus service (200 yen for adult and 100 yen for children) from Usuki City Hall to Usuki Stone Buddha.
Usuki Stone Buddha Fire Festival has developed from the city’s traditional festivals of mushi-okuri to drive away harmful insects, hosaku-kigan to pray for a good harvest, and Jizo-matsuri to thank the local guardian deities. The village of Fukata is lit up, around 19:00, with 1000 framing torches and bonfires in front of the stone Buddha clusters, creating the shining stone Buddha images by fire and mystical atmosphere of the stone Buddha village.
