特別祈願法要がありました
本日、令和最初の祈願法要が行われました。
祈願箱へ投函された祈願用紙の他、今回は特別に、今年大分県で開催されるラグビーワールドカップ2019の必勝祈願も行われました。
日本はもちろんのこと、臼杵石仏の外国人観光客数No.1のフランス、さらには大分県で試合が開催される国、ニュージーランド、オーストラリア、ウェールズ、フィジー、ウルグアイ、カナダの国旗が描かれたラグビーボールも並べられました。
さらには、６月１日販売開始のほっとさんコインケースの金運祈願も行われましたよ^^
とってもかわいいコインケースは500円、臼杵石仏売店他、臼杵市観光交流プラザ、臼杵市役所売店での販売を予定しています。
そして３枚めの写真は、３週間のバカンスで来日し偶然その場に居合わせていたフランス人のお客様。
最初はその雰囲気に躊躇していたものの、経典本による風を受けて頂き、焼香も行い「忘れられない文化体験ができた、思いがけず参列でき幸運でした」とても嬉しそうでした^^
Today the special buddhist ceremony in the new Japanese era of Reiwa was conducted.
While normally prayer letters in the prayer drop boxes were presented to the Buddha, in this occasion Rugby World Cup 2019 flag balls including France, New Zealand, Australia, Wales, Fiji, Uruguay, Canada, and Japan were also presented in order to pray for victory.
Furthermore, economic fortune of Hotto-san change purses was prayed.
This lovely Hotto-san change purses will be sold for 500 yen in stores of the Usuki Stone Buddha (https://sekibutsu.com/english ), the Tourism Plaza (100-2 Usuki, Usuki Shi), and the Usuki City Hall (72-1 Usuki, Usuki Shi) from 1st June onwards.
A couple of French tourists coming across the ceremony during their Japan trip for three weeks of vacation were initially shocked by the overwhelming atmosphere of the sutra chanting by the monks, but received wind of Daihannya-kyō (Mahāprajñāpāramitā Sūtra, Large Sutra on Perfect Wisdom) and offered incense among other attendees.
Ultimately they were very excited and happy, saying “It is an unforgettable experience. We are very lucky to be here.”
